Associate Directors are expected to put in a minimum of 10 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 2 days.

SUMMARY:

The Associate Director of Academic Partnerships position is responsible for relations with US academic institutions through internship and Capstone Research programs. This position is also responsible for initiating and expanding Save The Water™ Student Club at universities. This work is in coordination with the Development Group. The main responsibilities of these Students Clubs are to plan and set up events, fundraising, and field trips which are done under the supervision of the Associate Director.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • All the STW™ departments are participating in the internship program. The Associate Director oversees the program offered by each department.
  • Communicate with each department before the start of the internship program to get an update on the availability of the internship program and update the list of each department’s mentors. This information needs to be shared with HR. 
  • Associate Director must attend Research & Engineering meetings at least once a month.
  • Communicate and stay in contact with the University’s Career Fair office. Update Career Fair of the available intern positions.  
  • Plan for the upcoming Career Fairs with each university and coordinate with the CEO, Mr. Frank Ramos. 
  • Interview the intern and introduce he/she to the CEO and the President. 
  • Obtain the final report of the intern’s work and send a copy to the Career Fair.
  • Write an email to update the faculty and/or academic advisor on the work that the intern accomplished.
  • During the intern’s interview, assess whether the intern is able to initiate Save The Water™ Student Club at the university.
  • The STW™ Student Club, in coordination with the Development group, should plan fundraising, event holdings, and field trips.


EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. in science degree completed.
  • Must have experience with the university setup and the universities curriculum.
  • Must have experience in initiating programs and policies in academic institutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. 
  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous, and professional manner when dealing with academic institutions.
  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and summarization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Energetic team player with strong initiative, work ethic, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • South Florida residents preferred.
