Description:
Housing Works Bookstore Cafe seeks volunteer Sales Associates! Responsibilities include shelving books, organizing sections, working behind the counter, and assisting staff members with special projects.
Housing Works Bookstore Café is a not-for-profit venue located in lovely SoHo, New York. Our extensive selection of books, CDs, records and DVDs are all donated from the community, and the majority of our daily operations are run by volunteers. In addition to a fabulous array of discounted books and music, we also host readings, concerts, parties and more!
Housing Works Inc., our parent organization and recipient of all proceeds from our sales, is a minority-controlled, community-based organization that provides housing, health care, advocacy and support services to homeless men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.
We ask for a minimum commitment of one four-hour shift per week for at least six months. Shifts are available any time that the store is open, including evenings and weekends.
