Help Young People Write
Autobiographical Stories & Create
Zines & Mini Movies
Streetside Stories is a nonprofit arts
education organization that uses
storytelling, creative writing, theatrical
improvisation and digital storytelling
and blogging to help San Francisco
public middle school students
develop their reading, writing and
oral communication skills.
We are looking for members of the
community to help students to write
autobiographical stories during our
Storytelling Exchange and Streetside
After-School programs and to create
autobiographical digital stories
during our Tech Tales program.
Volunteers are needed during the
school day and after school.
The Storytelling Exchange and Tech
Tales programs are in SFUSD middle
schools all over the city and have two
workshops each day:
*The morning workshop is usually
from 9-11 am.
*The afternoon workshop varies with
each school; it can be 11am-1 pm,
12-2 pm or 1-3 pm.
The Streetside After-School
programs are in SFUSD middle
schools all over the city and usually
take place from 3:30-5:30 pm
Beginning January 2nd...
Many of Streetside's in-school and afterschool programs will begin immediately after the holidays, and volunteer support is needed! Please review the schedule and needs below, and contact us if you would like to jump in and provide some invaluable support to our youth and artist facilitators!
