IVDN will be glad to introduce you to a number of health institutions within Kenyan, where you will have an opportunity to rotate in medical specialties of your choice for a cumulative duration not exceeding 12weeks. The hospital will allow you to interact, clerk, examine patients and formulate management of various conditions under supervision of hospital’s Medical Officers (an equivalent of Senior House Officer) and Consultants.
Costs and practicalities
IVDN does not have external funding and therefore,running the programs depends on the program fees provided by the volunteers,as do their salary fees.The program fee depends on the duration of your visit. Please email us with your specific plans. Our programs generally run from two weeks to three months, but we can make special arrangements if you would like to stay longer.

The program fees caters for:
Accommodation(both in Nairobi on arrival plus the rest of stay in Mombasa or Western Kenya)
Meals-(Breakfast & Dinner) meals taken outside the project will be borne by the volunteer themselves.
Fees for student passes/ permits (Government regulation).
Elective charges at the hospitals
Airport Transfer from Nairobi to Mombasa.
Daily transport to the apartment to hospital.

We offer special discounted rates to all volunteers on arrival to Maasai Mara for 03 days camping at a fee of US$550 per person sharing which includes the following;

Meet and greet at the airport.
Transfer from the Airport to a city hotel.
One night accomodation on the first day on arrival on bed and breakfast.
Orientation in the City on arrival (Nairobi City tour).
Transport from Nairobi to Maasai Mara & back in a photographic hatched roof Safari Mini-van.
Full accommodation in the park for 2nights / 3days in a 2 Man Tent (camping).
03 meals a day while on safari (except drinks).
Park Entry Fees and driver's / guide's allowance.
Life in Kenya is difficult and very different from what most of our volunteers have ever experienced.Kenya is a developing country and most of the people we interact with are living in extreme poverty.A visiting mzungu(non-Kenyan white) can be seen as an opportunity by some.This means that volunteers are likely to be approached by locals in need of food,money,staples,etc and that many people will see them as a chance to get out of Kenya or to receive support money for themselves,their families or their "business or organization" It can be difficult to make people understand that not every person from the western world has an unlimited supply of money available to them.Coupled with differences in cultures and the rustic life-style,these demands can become trying for volunteers and are compounded the longer a volunteer is in Kenya. All these put together, Kenya is a beautiful country stretching from the landscapes, the Ocean, the Mountains, the game reserves and National parks, the breath-taking Rift Valley and the Great Lake Victoria which is the second largest fresh water lake in the World not forgetting the warmth that people in Kenya will receive you with at any given time and day.
