WONGONYI LIBRARY
Description
Wongonyi library is located in wongonyi primary school, Mwambirwa division, Taita Taveta district of Coast province of Kenya. The library is the only information and resource centre for the entire division. The community is mostly comprised of illiterate and underprivileged families. The demand for English speaking teachers is also very high.
The volunteer will be expected to train and help run and manage the resource centre with some individuals from the community.
You will also be able to teach English to a group of 40-50 to 50 in a class. Volunteers can also match their skills and interests to the needs of community. You may also initiate local research projects for a thesis. The volunteers will be immersed in rural village life and will spend time with warm and welcoming villagers; you will also have the opportunity to assist villagers in areas of great importance to their community epecially the youths and the women.

Qualifications
Flexible and open minded, desire to help children from poor communities and you should be someone willing to reach out and inspire hope where there might be none.
Costs
100 Euros for registration and 300 Euros per month
Costs include:

Food and Accommodation.

Written materials pre departure.
Communication
The volunteer will be accommodated in a home stay.
