Description:
Provide web design and development services to Grassroots.org free hosting clients. Clients are US and Canadian nonprofit organizations who require web site creation, updating, and maintenance. All work can be performed virtually. Communication with client is done by e-mail or phone. International volunteers and students are welcome and encouraged to apply!!
Skills
- Experience designing and developing web pages and web sites.
- Have the ability to understand a client's organization and translate that knowledge into a web site that represents the organizaton.
- Must be proficient at web development software (e.g. Dreamweaver, GoLive, FrontPage, etc.)
- Advanced skills (scripting, web database development, etc.) helpful but not required.
- Familiarity with Section 508 and other accessibility issues helpful but not required.
- Must have access to web development software and have the ability to work independently.
- Volunteer can be located anywhere, but because of required client communication US or Canadian residents are preferred.
- Some clients are located in Puerto Rico or in Spanish-speaking communities within the US or Canada and require proficiency in the Spanish language. Others are located in Canada and require proficiency in the French language.
