This is an opportunity to work with as amazing and well-respected organization in an integral role. The Donation Chair will serve on the Logistics Committee for the Orange County Heart Walk to be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Irvine Spectrum Center in Irvine, CA. The Donation Chair responsibilities are as follows:

• Participate in Logistics Committee meetings

• Secure food and drink donations for logistics meetings

• Work with Water Station Chair to secure bottled water donations for the event

• Manage walker incentive donation contribution list and continue to secure walker incentive donations on an ongoing basis

• Keep track of walker incentive donation inventory in a manageable excel document

• Coordinate with Business Development Director to help in other areas where needed before the day of the event

• On the day of the event, ensure that equipment/water donations arrive as expected and are in correct locations

• Ensure that all recyclable donations are returned or stored for future use after event and ensure that all equipment donations are picked-up or returned promptly (coordinate with businesses to facilitate process)

• Attend the Walk, awards/recognition party and other related events

• Provide evaluation and feedback.

The Donation Chair will be an active part of the Logistics Committee for this year's Start! Orange County Heart Walk and will be interested in working with the Logistics Committee on a long-term basis. We are looking for someone who will be available and reliable, as well as someone who is passionate about the mission of the American Heart Association and is willing to participate in this event. The time commitment will be ongoing, with a heavier load in August and September.
