Description:

With just 1 hour a week, you can make a huge difference in the lives of children from underserved communities.

Become a volunteer reading tutor for struggling young readers -- it's simple, flexible, effective and fun!

No experience is required -- with one-on-one attention, we achieve an 80% success rate. Our structured curriculum has been proven to be very effective, yet it’s very easy-to-follow. And there’s always a staff member to support and assist you.

Pick any 1-hour time slot that’s convenient for you, most any time between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Thursday (and you’re welcome to help more if able).

With 3 convenient Oakland locations: North Oakland, downtown Oakland, and Fruitvale.

Without your help, our students are 7 times more likely not to graduate from high school, and much more likely to end up in the juvenile justice system -- but you can open doors to a brighter future.
