Our Idealist Resource Overviews are a quick (30 minute) way for you to learn the ins and outs of specific resources on our website. We've designed these presentations to be useful not only for career services office staff but also as presentations that you can send to your students and alumni.
Idealist not only supports nonprofit job seekers and those looking to move from good intention to action, we also offer a range of resource centers that address the needs of professionals already working in the sector. Our 30 minute overview of the Nonprofit Human Resources Center, The Volunteer Manager Resource Center, and our Nonprofit FAQ will help you to quickly navigate these centers so that both you and your students can:
The Idealist Guides to Nonprofit Careers and accompanying Career Center, both resources intended to provide job-seekers with a clear road map to finding meaningful career paths in the sector.
The Public Service Graduate Education Resource Center (PSGERC) which helps individuals consider the value of additional education and the options of what one might study as it relates to social change careers.
The International Volunteerism Resource Center (IVRC) which helps individuals make informed decisions about volunteering in another country. Our overview of the IVRC introduces free online tools and resources for everyone from first-time international volunteers to returned volunteers and global service alumni.
Idealist's resources to support service corps participation (including national and international service opportunities like Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Teach For America, and faith-based service initiatives), including The New Service blog and podcast, and "Service Corps to Social Impact Career: A Companion to The Idealist Guides to Nonprofit Careers".
