How much does it cost to post a job?

Posting a single job costs $60. We also offer discounted job packs. Job packs are a simple and cost-effective way to post jobs on Idealist. They allow you to purchase various discounted packs in advance, then post jobs when you need to. We currently offer the following four job packs:

   • 10 jobs for $475 (Save $125)
   • 30 jobs for $975 (Save $825)
   • 100 jobs for $2,500 (Save $3,500)
   • 500 jobs for $10,000 (Save $20,000)

Consultants may use Idealist to post jobs for their clients. Consultants must pay for a membership (either $50/six months or $95/year) in order to post jobs, which cost $60 per job. Consultants may not purchase job packs. ↑

What else can I post on Idealist?

You can post internships, volunteer positions, campaigns, materials, and events—all for free (only jobs carry a fee). You can use Idealist's free event management system to promote your event and enable online registration.

What’s Idealist’s customer service like?

In addition to an online Help Section, Idealist’s User Support Team provides support by email and telephone. We use industry-standard contact management systems to ensure prompt and professional service. Our staff speaks English, French, and Spanish. ↑

What happens when I post?

Each time you post, your listing will:

• Appear on Idealist’s site, which gets 60,000 unique visitors a day.
• Be sent to interested users via Idealist’s email alerts. 400,000 people subscribe (it’s free) and 2,000 new users join daily.
• Be shared with career advisors (and those they advise) nationwide via professional networks and partnerships.

• Update the listing at any time to reflect changes in the position
• Remove postings when positions are filled
• Save reusable templates for any listing you plan to repost ↑

Can I pay with a check?

Yes! We accept checks drawn on U.S. bank accounts. ↑

Can I pay with a credit card?

Of course! We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Transactions on credit card statements will be line itemed as coming from "Action Without Borders." You will also receive an email with a transaction ID number which serves as a receipt. ↑

How long do listings remain on the site?

Job listings stay on our site for 60 days by default. However if you specify an "application deadline" before 60 days, that is the date the listing will be removed from our site. If you specify an application deadline before 60 days, it may be extended to a different date within the original 60 day period. There is no limit to the number of times that you can extend the deadline and there is never a charge to update or extend a listing, as long as the application deadline has not already passed and the listing is for the same position. ↑

Can my agency post on Idealist?

Agencies at the local, state/province, and national level can use Idealist.org to promote their opportunities and resources. Any agency joining Idealist.org must abide by our Principles of Use. ↑
