The Robertson Foundation: The Robertson Foundation is a private, family-led foundation established in 1996 by Julian Robertson and his wife, Josie. By taking a targeted yet creative approach to philanthropy, the Foundation aims to have a positive social and environmental impact and to create a legacy that reflects its values. Historically, the Foundation has sought to make high-impact, results-oriented grants in the areas of education, environment, and medical research.

The Position: The Program Coordinator for the Medical Research and Environment Portfolios will provide dynamic administrative and event logistics support to the Medical Research and Environment teams. This position is an ideal opportunity for an individual seeking exposure to the social impact sector, especially philanthropy, who is highly organized, communicative, analytical, and eager to learn. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the work calendars of the Medical Research Program Director and Environment Program Director.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings for the Medical Research and Environment teams, including scheduling, preparation, and follow up.  
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and event logistics for convenings for the Medical Research and Environment teams.
  • Organize internal team meetings: develop agendas, take notes, and track action items.
  • Maintain internal intranet sites (e.g., upload notes and contacts; keep files organized) 
  • Join external meetings to take notes (as requested).
  • Draft correspondence to external partners.
  • Compile internal reports as needed.
  • Strategize with colleagues to streamline and enhance administrative systems,  workflow and processes of Medical and Environment teams
  • Help lead implementation of new grants management database for the Environment and Medical teams.
  • Time split will be 50% Medical Research Team; 50% Environment Team, and will report jointly to both directors. 

Background and characteristics of strong candidates:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience building the skills described above.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Enjoys designing internal processes to increase efficiency 
  • At least one year experience with coordinating event and travel logistics. 
  • Excellent written communication, oral communication, and research skills.
  • Proactive and able to suggest solutions as issues arise. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care and discretion.
  • Strong interest in social impact.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and plans; even keeled and diplomatic 
  • Generosity of spirit and a sense of humor!
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency a plus.

Compensation 

  • The position is full-time, with a preference for candidates based in NYC. The Foundation is currently on a hybrid schedule of 2 days/week in-office expected.
  • Salary range for this position is $72,000 – 82,000
