Video Associate (Rapid Response)

Everytown for Gun Safety is hiring a Rapid Response Video Associate to support our online storytelling and amplify the voices of the movement to end gun violence. The ideal person for this role will be someone who can monitor the news and online platforms for engaging video content, get buy-in a video concept, and produce the video optimized for different social platforms. The position will sit on the video team as part of the Digital Campaigns Team, and is based in our New York City or DC office (3 days in-person, 2 days remote).

In this role you will:

• Respond to short turnaround (same day) video editing requests from the social team from concept to hitting send
• Monitor news, trending social content, and supporter generated content to scour for good video content
• Become an expert on our video management system, be able to make connections for use cases, and pull footage
• Ensure quality and consistent branding on all video content
• Track evolving video trends in social media, try new things, and share learnings with the team
• Help with pitching, scriptwriting, producing, vetting, and project management as needed

You should have:

• 2+ years experience creating social media video content for campaigns, nonprofits, or advocacy organizations.
• Basic knowledge of video editing software, like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, After Effects, Illustrator or others
• Attention to detail and ability to navigate approvals with a solutions-oriented mindset
• Strong collaboration skills
• A mindset for inclusivity, equity and trying new things online
• Excitement around reaching new audiences and learning new skills

Pluses include:

• Experience building Youtube as a social media platform
• Drafting scripts or advocacy content
• Knowledge of motion graphics or animation
