Rena Dictor LeBlanc is an award-winning journalist whose articles have been published in major magazines and newspapers worldwide.
Four movies based on Ms. LeBlanc’s articles are “Gracie’s Choice”, Lifetime Channel; “Empty Cradle”, ABC; “Remembrance of Love”, NBC; and the award-winning “When You Remember Me”, ABC.
Ms. LeBlanc is co-author, with her late husband Jerry LeBlanc, of the book “Suddenly Rich.” And she is the author of “A Guide To Finding The Best Long-Term Care—How You Can Make The Right Choices for the Elderly, Ill, & Disabled”.
Her articles have been syndicated by The New York Times Syndicate, Los Angeles Times Syndicate, King Features, and Camera Press (London). Some of the publications in which her stories have been published include Parade, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, McCall’s, Los Angeles, Woman’s Day, Family Circle, People, TV Guide and the Los Angeles Times. Topics she has covered in her stories include human drama, travel, celebrities, health, human rights victories, science, crime, animal welfare, sudden wealth and long-term care.
She has won writing awards from The American Society Of Journalists and Authors, The Associated Press, PEN West, and the Los Angeles Press Club.
Her Reader’s Digest cover story “Amy’s Choice” was chosen to be the first article in the Reader’s Digest book “True Lives: …Stories of Hope, Honor & Humor”. The book, which covers a variety of topics, includes the best stories in 80 years and 1,000 issues of the Digest, with writing by such luminaries as James Michener, Albert Schweitzer, Winston Churchill, Carl Sandburg, Margaret Mead, Clare Boothe Luce…
She previously worked for the Eons Website as an Expert Blogger on the topic of Overcoming Obstacles. She’s completing a book on the topic.
Ms. LeBlanc has been featured speaker at writing seminars at UCLA, USC, and Cal State Northridge. She taught freelance writing at The Learning Tree.
For years Ms. LeBlanc has been bringing professional entertainers to perform free at nursing homes in Los Angeles. The organization she founded for this purpose is called Cabaret. Her goal is to expand these volunteer shows to nursing homes across the country.
