Idealist Nonprofit HR Conferences
![]() Program from our first nonprofit HR Conference In the spring of 2001 we assembled nonprofit HR professionals from across the United States, and asked what was needed regarding nonprofit HR training, resources, and networking opportunities. We heard nonprofit HR professionals calling for a national platform, geared towards the challenges and strengths of the sector, offering training and specialized events. The First and Second National Nonprofit Human Resources Conferences, called "Putting People at the Center", were a direct result of these focus groups. Held in June 2003 in Philadelphia, PA, the First National Nonprofit HR Conference was the first national event of its kind in the United States. In June 2004, the Second National Nonprofit HR Conference was held in Portland, OR, and out of several hundred attendees, many were repeat participants who traveled from the East Coast. Presentations from these conferences are available on our site courtesy of the presenters. (Please note that some links on the old conference sites are no longer functional and/or up-to-date). Following the conferences, we spent our time and energy responding to the positive feedback and developing the Nonprofit Human Resources Center. In 2007, we hope to facilitate a series of local and regional nonprofit HR convening in a city near you. We are currently developing a nonprofit regional workshops and a national conference. Subscribe to our e-newsletter, Idealist.org Nonprofit Human Resources Monitor, to stay on top of nonprofit HR topics and events. Additionally, the Nonprofit Human Resources Center will continue to develop in response to the needs of the community. This page will be updated as soon as we have more information regarding the Third National Nonprofit HR Conference. |
