Description:

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT the BUSHWICK COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE (CPI)?

Bushwick Making Children Important (BMCI) is a Child Welfare Network that serves as a forum to share resources, ideas, information, and referrals to strengthen Bushwick Families.

NYC Children's Services and the Mayors Office have created a Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) which let BMCI and the community develop a strategic plan to recruit more foster parents from the Bushwick Community.

Our goal is to keep Bushwick children that may need to go into Foster Care in Bushwick, as well as working on other supports to reunify families quicker.

If you live or work in Bushwick and have a questions about how to become a highly needed Foster Parent, Please call the BMCI CPI Liaison, Raul Rubio, at 917-250-9126 to get in touch with a recruiter or for more information about upcoming recruitment events.

SHARE YOUR HEART AND YOUR HOME TO HELP A CHILD,
BECOME A FOSTER PARENT

How people can help:

We need people from the Bushwick community to help is several ways: Become a foster parent or direct someone who is curious to call for information or attend a recruitment event.

We also need Community Residents who have knowledge of local services and city wide systems and Professionals who work in Bushwick to become Community Representatives. Community Reps will attend Family Conferences and can lend their expertise to developing plans to help support families. It is a good opportunity for CBO’s to find referrals for families that are motivated to get connected to services.

We are also looking for Community Residents to become Family Hosts. Family Hosts will be trained to work with families on the verge of reunifying. The ideology is that as families move towards reuniting, visits need to transition from the agency, to a more common community setting.

If you are interested in participating in any or these initiatives please call the CPI Liaison Raul Rubio at 917-250-9126.

If you would like to join our CPI, We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 10:00am at 335 Central Avenue (Department of Health and Mental Hygiene) in Bushwick. Meetings take place in the Basement Auditorium.
ALL ARE WELCOME.
