Description:

ColorBurst accepts internship and volunteer applications on a rotating basis throughout the year.

An Illustration and Design Assistant will assist in all aspects of design and pre-press. An Illustration and Design Assistant may also have an opportunity to work with our Marketing Department to develop self promotion and marketing materials, including generating content for the web. Flexible hours are available, including: morning and afternoon shifts. Weekdays only. Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop is required. Familiarity with using this software on a Mac (the Art Department does not use PCs) is required.

An Illustration and Design Assistant will be expected to:
* create artwork according to customer specifications
* output color separations
* ensure quality control
* assist in the development of content for ColorBurst's website
* assist in the creation of self promotion and marketing materials for ColorBurst
* be willing to work along side individuals with disabilities

We encourage undergraduate and graduate students to apply for an internship to earn academic credit. Interns may have an opportunity to create printed pieces for their portfolios. This is an unpaid internship. Students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago or Columbia College, who qualify for the off campus Work Study Program - may be eligible for a paid internship at ColorBurst.

We also welcome recent graduates to apply as volunteers. As a volunteer, you’ll be using your skills and expertise to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
