Description:

The National MS Society, Colorado Chapter is looking for a dynamic, energetic, responsible and organized individual to join the Western Slope office. The Internship is an exciting position within the MS Society’s Colorado Chapter, working directly with the Program Manager and Development Manager to assist in researching local resources for program and development needs.

Responsibilities
• Assist the Development Manager with recruitment and development of Walk MS teams, event sponsors, event table hosts, event supply donations
• Help coordinate annual Holiday Party
• Media contacts on Western Slope for promotion of events and programs
• Research Western Slope resources for people living with MS, disabilities, financial needs, etc.
• Assist with routine paperwork, mailings, faxing, photocopying and other clerical needs

Qualifications
? Available a minimum of 16 hours a week
? Available on event weekends: May 8 & 15, 2010
? Able to provide reliable transportation
? Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Web Browsers
? Ability to create a professional presentation, both over the phone, and in person
? Must be willing to ask questions, think creatively, and brainstorm for new ideas
? Strong organizational skills
? Strong planning skills
? Ability to effectively work on several complex projects simultaneously
? Strong oral and written communication skills
? Ability to successfully prioritize work
? Ability to work effectively with large groups
? Knowledge and ability to quickly learn current Chapter resources and data
? A strong sense of purpose and a passion for working in an open, friendly environment while working to build a strong Western Slope community!

This position will allow for professional growth, networking, and a behind the scenes look at the ins and outs of event management, committee involvement, building programs, and financials. Allow for 16 hours weekly.
