Description:
Interested in the sports industry? Interested in learning more about non-profit management? Interested in exposure to an entrepreneurial environment? If so, read on…
Good Sports is a non-profit organization that provides sports equipment to disadvantaged youth in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Philadelphia and Chicago. Our organizational mission is to increase urban youth participation in organized sports by targeting one of the major factors limiting participation—access to sports equipment.
Good Sports is creating partnerships with multiple sports organizations including manufacturers, sporting goods retailers, professional sports teams, and sports media to secure these equipment donations. Some of our partnerships to date include: Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, Spalding Corporation, New Balance, Nokona, Sport Supply Group, Wilson Racquet Sports and WEEI.
Internship responsibilities may include but not limited to: research based projects to better understand the communities that we serve and to support proposal preparation for potential partners and funding opportunities; support around inventory and deliveries; marketing and PR assistance, and event planning and management. We are willing to work with candidates to best align their interests with our needs to maximize the intern experience.
We are committed to providing a stimulating and challenging work experience which will be a valuable addition to any resume. In addition, excellent work would be rewarded with strong job references and networking opportunities. We prefer candidates that are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Our offices are located in Boston near the T (red line).
Time Commitment
Specific schedules will need to be coordinated to fit business needs. Our preference is to candidates who can commit to a regular schedule (i.e. every Tuesday/Thursday), or those looking for internships during off semesters.
