Description:

Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH) is a pioneering not-for-profit youth development organization that provides opportunity, education and empowerment to Harlem girls through a rigorous after-school academics and ice skating program. We are seeking a highly motivated professional to enhance the promotional and fundraising activities for this innovative, growth-oriented, community-based organization that is entering its second decade of service.

This position reports to the Development Director with primary responsibility for coordinating four program/community events and one or two Board cultivation events each year, assisting with the annual gala, soliciting corporate sponsorships and journal ads, supporting individual donor cultivation, developing promotional and marketing materials (newsletters, brochures, website), and responsible for donor acknowledgements and database management. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented, hard working, self-starter who wants to be a core staff member in a small but rapidly growing organization and generating even greater support for its mission.

The successful candidate will be a college graduate who is highly organized, detailed oriented, creative, with excellent oral and written communication skills. He/she will have at least 3 years of event or development work experience and enjoy a small but active office environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher are required, with digital media knowledge a plus. Interest in sports and arts, youth and community development also a big plus.

Full-time position. Excellent Benefits. Salary 35-40K or commensurate with experience.
