Description:

Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC) is a not-for-profit legal services organization founded in 1996 to protect and promote the basic human rights of immigrants of all nationalities. FIAC receives its funding from The Florida Bar Foundation (IOTA grants) and many local and national foundations. The following positions are available at the Miami Office:

Two Bilingual Paralegals
Two positions are available for paralegals fluent in English and Spanish to assist attorneys with FIAC’s Children’s Legal Project. These positions entail working with unaccompanied immigrant children held in federal immigration custody as well as immigrant children in state foster care and those living in the community who are seeking immigration relief. These paralegals will be responsible for working closely with various government officials and social services providers. The positions will be available beginning in May 2008.

The ideal candidates for these positions will be energetic, friendly and responsible persons. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Experience working with children and/or familiarity with immigration laws preferred. An associate or bachelor’s degree is required.
