Description:

Development Coordinator

MISSION
The Bolivian Street Children Project is a Christian social welfare organization that addresses the unique needs of street children in Bolivia and around the world. We work to uncover the potential of these children and make a lasting difference in their lives, one child at a time. (www.bolivianstreetchildren.org)

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The BSCP is a young and growing organization. Currently, we run 3 homes for street children in La Paz, Bolivia, in addition to a street outreach program and after-school program. As a small organization, there is much collaboration between our US-based and Bolivia-based staff members. However, the US office assumes primary responsibility for raising funds and calling attention to the needs of street children (through publications, speaking engagements, etc.), while the La Paz office focuses primarily on our direct services to the children.

This job opening presents a unique and exciting opportunity for a competent and driven professional to become a part of a growing team dedicated to serving youth at extreme risk in the developing world. Responsibilities are likely to grow as the program continues to expand. It is expected that all team members will be intimately familiar with our services in La Paz, thus some travel will be required. (This travel is flexible and is currently estimated to be 1 trip per year.)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Coordinator is responsible for a range of administrative functions that facilitate fundraising and marketing initiatives, and support BSCP operations. Working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator will manage donor relations and communications with individuals, foundations, churches, corporations and other institutions. The Development Coordinator will work to maintain and enhance relations with our current donor base, identify new partnerships and funding sources, and build critical awareness of the BSCP name and mission.
