Description:
Overview: Dynamic, fast-growing organization seeks creative, organized professional to serve key leadership role in Towson Hillel’s Annual Campaign. This is an immediate opening for a 25 hour a week talented and ambitious professional. The Development Director ensures that Hillel develops the financial resources necessary to sustain and expand ongoing operations. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Director must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Prior professional experience in face-to-face solicitation is desirable. Familiarity with database management, gift processing, special event planning and prospect research is preferred. The Development Director works cooperatively with the Associated: The Baltimore Jewish Community Federation and Towson University and reports directly to the Hillel Executive Director.
Responsibilities: • Communicate Hillel’s vision to all stakeholders: parents, alumni, community members and other constituent groups • Manage Towson Hillel’s $100,000 annual campaign • Staff Towson Hillel Development Committee • Cultivate and research potential donors • Develop strategies for face-to-face solicitations with major donors • Produce development materials targeting constituent groups that include newsletters, giving opportunities, etc. • Manage constituent information in the database and gift processing • Coordinate telemarketing programs for parents and alumni • Coordinate direct mail appeals • Develop strategies to reach different constituent groups • Organize phonathons • Coordinate fundraising events • Prepare grant proposals and reports • Staff Hillel programs as necessary. • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or higher Comfortable working with a computer Excellent written and oral communication skills Minimum two years development experience required
Travel: Occasional travel as needed to meet with donors and prospects
