Description:

First day of school: September 1, 2008.
Teach 15 to 18 classes a week, Monday through Friday.
Classes are 45 minutes long.
Teach students from 9th through 12th grades.
Maintain records of daily student attendance, daily lesson plans, and grades with the Estonian Ministry of Education's E-kool (www.ekool.ee).
Use "I Love English" textbooks for 9th graders, with a workbook.
Use "Upstream" textbooks for 10th through 12th graders, with a workbook and CD.
Add your own supplemental material from library, Internet, and audio resources.
Attend school meetings and in-service training programs as well as meetings of the school's foreign language department and the English language section.

Benefits:
The salary is about 8,000 Estonian kroons a month, which is average for a first-year teacher.
Most classrooms have Internet access and white boards.
The English classroom and media classroom have computers with speakers, Internet connections, and projectors.
Traditional fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks with a few holidays inbetween.
Twelve month contract.
An apartment is provided within walking distance of the school.
Rent and utilities are paid by the school.
The school helps with living and work permit applications, too.
National health care is provided once these permits are issued.
Unfortunately, you must pay for your own airfare here.

Kevin Hogan, from Chicago, is teaching in Tapa now and will help with the transition into Estonia, into Tapa, into the high school, and into teaching.

Additional Qualifications:

TEFL certificate is desired but not required.
Knowledge of Estonian or Russian is not required.
Creativity helps, since students are accustomed to lecture-style learning.
