Position Overview
City Year Los Angeles seeks a highly skilled, well-organized Program Manager (PM) to lead teams of corps members in service to Los Angeles schools. The PM is responsible fro the implementation of City Year LA’s program and service objectives for the corps as well as the overall management of the day-to-day team based operations of two senior corps members and twenty corps members. City Year corps members work full-time in schools and after-school programs to promote academic success, build capacity and lead citizens in service.

Responsibilities:
• Management of Two Teams of Corps Members:
o Coach young adults in the areas of project planning, relationship management, leadership development and the successful delivery of effective in-school and after-school service.
o Develop team-building strategies and activities.
o Develop and support structured trainings to build skills for corps members.
o Uphold high standards for corps members.
o Manage retention and the overall experience of the corps.
• Relationship Management & Engagement:
o Manage relationships with school-based and community-based service partners and identify leaders and resources in a community.
o Develop partnerships that support the ability of the team to implement its school-based and neighborhood-based service and civic engagement objectives.
o Serve as “community expert” and neighborhood liaison for assigned geographically based area where the team will focus its service and civic engagement activities.
o Support recruitment of future corps members by reaching out to high schools, universities and community-based organizations.
• Evaluation of Service Programs:
o Ensure effective implementation of evaluation tools including on-going tracking of corps member performance and school based performance measures.
o Manage high impact service and evaluate outcomes.

Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse team of young adults in educational, community service, or training organization;
• Leadership experience and proven program management experience;
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
• Strong commitment to and experience developing a diverse and inclusive workforce, and working effectively with people with different work styles and backgrounds;
• Proven ability to work as both a team member and independent leader;
• BA preferred
