The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the leading organization devoted to curing and controlling cystic fibrosis. Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., the Foundation funds CF research, has 80 chapter and branch offices throughout the country, and accredits a nationwide network of 115 CF care centers, which provide vital treatments and other CF resources to patients and families.
To advance the search for a cure, the Foundation has invested nearly $300 million in promising scientific research in the biotechnology industry since 1998. As a result, the Foundation has more than 30 potential therapies in its drug discovery and development pipeline. The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has immediate opening for an enthusiastic, fund-raising professional to oversee assigned events to ensure fundraising growth and strong financial and volunteer management.
Responsibilities will include:
Oversee and develop event revenue goals and operational budgets (existing and new events).
Supervise other office staff as assigned to achieve event goals and overall chapter budget.
Identify, recruit, cultivate, and nurture corporate sponsors, committee members (and committee chairs) and volunteers.
Network with CF families, patients, volunteers and major donors
Play a role in cultivating prospects and developing major gifts within markets
Accountable for growth and budget achievement of assigned events
Plan, implement, and attend events
Seek underwriting, in-kind donations and auction items
Help develop volunteer recruitment initiative in chapter to recruit new leadership
Maintain efficient record-keeping systems, including databases
Additional Qualifications:
Requirements:
3 to 5 years event/fundraising experience, experience with walks-a-thons preferred
Strong project management skills working in team environment
Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
Volunteer management experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
