Description:

Girls For A Change (GFC) seeks a dynamic Program Manager to work with the Local Program Director on recruitment of more than 300 girls and collaborations with more than 30 schools and organizations. The Program Manager also oversees 23 Girl Action Teams, manages more than 46 volunteer coaches and coordinates recruitment and the database of more than 100 volunteers. This position is supervised by the Phoenix Program Director. The Program Manger also fulfills critical positions in the program department regarding program administration of teams and volunteers. In addition, the Program Manager coordinates the annual girl and volunteer training event in addition to partnering with other staff in event coordination of our Completion Ceremony. This position is ideal for a passionate, fast-moving, adaptable and ambitious professional who has the ability to work independently and on a team. The position has numerous opportunities for leadership and skill development in a small and fast growing non profit. Applicants should be passionate about youth development and social change. Hours include nights and weekends. The position will include innovation and creativity and implementing already developed program standards, values and guidelines.

About Girls For A Change:
GFC is a national social change organization that empowers girls to create social change. GFC brings together professional women to support urban girls in becoming social change makers and community leaders by empowering them to design, lead, fund, and implement social change projects that tackle the problems they face in their own neighborhoods. GFC will launch over 100 Girl Action Teams throughout the country in the fall of 2008. Key Responsibilities:
1.Collaborates with 23 school contacts and schedule and deliver 20-23 girl recruitment events for Girl Action Teams.
2.Manages 23 Girl Action Teams throughout the year. The management includes at least one team visit, distributing and collecting evaluations and providing resources and support to the girls and coaches throughout the year
3.Assist with team participation at our spring training for coaches and girls, as well as facilitator recruitment and coordination at the event
4.Works with 50 volunteer coaches to support them in project development, holding regular team meetings, retention of girls, meeting girls needs and meeting GFC guidelines around risk management
5.Assists coaches in accessing community resources, including other CBOs, GFC consultants and websites.
6.Coordinates the end of the year Completion Ceremony in partnership with other staff.
7.Runs annual Spring Into Action training for girls and volunteers including development of recruitment materials for teams, securing workshops facilitators, working in coordination with the Girl Steering Committee to emcee the event and manages logistics
8.Manages girl registration and running reports in GFC’s Salesforce database
9.Assists in the development and mailing of our community newsletters
10.Manages relationship with local food bank and coordinates distribution of snacks to teams
11.Assists with the delivery of coach training and Girl Steering Committee trainings as needed and as time allows

Salary and Benefits: Salary will be based on a full-time salary with range $33,000 - $38,000 DOE plus a generous benefit package including Blue Shield PPO or HMO coverage, Blue Cross Dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability insurance. This range is not flexible, please do not apply or inquire if you require a higher salary range

Additional Qualifications:

Qualifications
•Minimum of two years of experience working with youth and volunteers.
•Exceptional writing, verbal, analytical, and computer skills.
•Ability to juggle multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
•Superb organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
•Entrepreneurial approach to working in an environment with limited resources, flexibility and a sense of humor.
•Ability to successfully manage relationships with many different kinds of clients including youth and adults. Experience with school site collaboration, a plus
•Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent required.
•Knowledge of youth development and/or social change.
•Able to work in a fast paced environment and shift gears quickly.
•Comfortable speaking in front groups of 20 or more (groups of youth, adults and mixed groups).
•Experience with event planning.
•Interest in community development/change.
•Ability to move items weighing 1-30 lbs from floor level, desk level, and shelf level of 6-7 feet.
•Ability to use a computer keyboard and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email daily.
•Ability to provide leadership, think strategically, and participate in high-level development discussions.
•Knowledge of Phoenix Metropolitan community
•Bilingual in Spanish, a plus
•Valid AZ Drivers license and reliable vehicle with current insurance
