Description:

Responsibilities include developing and implementing solutions to maximize the use of the SunGard BSR Advance alumni/development application. In consultation with end users and departmental management, the Database Analyst will define needs and design, execute and maintain complex queries and custom reports using SQL; Sybase and related software. The Database Analyst will also participate in the development and delivery of training in the use of the application and other solutions. The Database Analyst will create and test various software interfaces between internal and external applications; decipher large volumes of data to effectively import or extract from the college's donor database; act as the department's technical resource; install, implement and support various application software and other third party software as needed; provide ongoing support, including software tuning, installing upgrades and fixes; and act as liaison between Department of External Affairs, the Business Office and the Computer Center.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience in supporting an administrative computing environment, data administration, application design and analysis, working with relational databases and administrative information systems applications. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and software quickly and communicate well verbally and in writing with peers and clients. Expertise with MS Windows operating system, working with MS Access and Excel. Candidate must be service oriented and capable of working independtly while functioning as a focal member of the development team. Experience with fundraising systems (SunGard BSR Advance preferred), PowerBuilder 9, and InfoMaker. Bachelor's degree in information systems or computer science, and experience in a non-profit environment a plus.
