The Asian Health Coalition of Illinois is an expanding non-profit organization that seeks to improve the health and well-being of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Illinois through advocacy, technical assistance, education, and community-based research. Our organization is involved in a number of health outreach programs and is now searching for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as Program Director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Executive Director with program management and proposal writing, including researching and recommending grant opportunities
• Ensures that the implementation and evaluation of programs are in compliance with grant requirements
• Oversee the day to day management of program budgets
• Provide supervision and coaching to program staff to achieve AHCI’s mission
• Work closely with the Executive Director to plan and implement programs that align with the organization’s strategic goals
• Identify and anticipate trends in the implementation of health programs, i.e., prevention versus intervention
• In partnership with the Executive Director, develop and implement on-going plan to diversify funding, expand public relations and special events, and increase volunteer efforts
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in public health, social work or a related field required
• 3-5 years of working experience in public health preferred
• 3-5 years of management and supervisory experience desirable
• 3-5 years of work experience in development work and/or fundraising in non-profit
• Experience working with Asian community preferred
• Excellent proposal writing, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
