POSITION CONCEPT:
To provide support for Development operations to meet department and organizational goals. This position helps to directly and indirectly raise revenue through foundations, corporations, and individuals to fund program operations in the 19 counties of the Bay Area and San Joaquin Valley.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. GRANTWRITING – Writes and/or contributes to Letters of Intent and grant proposals for prospective foundations and corporate prospects. Prepares budgets for proposals.
2. DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH AND PROSPECTING – Researches and identifies corporate and foundation donors to fund Junior Achievement projects. Profiles companies, foundations and individuals for prospecting calls and meetings. Researches and compiles pertinent demographic and statistical information for grant proposals.
3. RELATIONSHIP CULTIVATION – Tracks communication with key foundation donors. Develop and cultivate relationships with current foundation donors.
4. DEVELOPMENT REPORTS – Manages progress of grant and corporate projects and other development activities. Maintains master files of corporate renewals, reports, and supporting documentation of donors. Prepares and processes grantee reports. Prepares and delivers reports on donor activities at weekly staff meetings. Manages corporate renewal funding process. Works directly with directors and mangers to manage all funding renewals.
5. OTHER SUPPORT – Provides administrative assistance to the Regional Director, VP of Development and/or President as needed.

Additional Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of direct professional work experience. Excellent grant writing skills with proven results. Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills, as well as excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, required. Must show a strong ability to work against deadlines, multi-task, and manage lateral relationships. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word required; familiarity with a fundraising database (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and mail merge preferred.
