Description:

The Center for Court Innovation, a project of the Fund for the City of New York, seeks a Research Coordinator. The Center for Court Innovation oversees the development, operations, and research of problem-solving justice projects that seek to address the complex problems of defendants, victims, and communities.

The research coordinator will work on a national study of the commercial sexual exploitation of children. The study involves interviews with child victims in six cities; assessments of the service community in each selected city; and official records analysis of arrest, prosecution, and recidivism outcomes. The research coordinator will oversee the work-flow of six sociological research teams in six cities and be the primary interface between researchers in the field and the project methodologists in New York City. In the early stages of the project, the coordinator will receive training in the basic research methodologies of the project at a nearby pilot location and will gain experience in each phase of the research process: including sampling, interviewing, and the financial management of the research process. In subsequent phases, the coordinator will be a resource to the five remote research teams, responsible for trouble shooting, coordination, budgeting, and (working with the project methodologists) low level data integration. The coordinator will also participate in final data analysis and report writing.

Qualifications should include, minimally, an MA degree in sociology or related social science/public health field, experience in SPSS or related spreadsheet analysis, a background in quantitative methods, and administrative experience in social/public health research. Experience in working with Respondent-Driven Sampling methods and/or coordinating social/public health research a definite plus.
