Description:
Freedom Institute is a non-profit outpatient treatment center for adolescents, adults, and families affected by alcohol and drug dependency.
We are seeking to fill a full-time position with a bright, energetic, and personable state licensed social worker, psychologist, mental health counselor or educator
who has an interest in adolescent counseling and substance abuse prevention education.
Job description is as follows:
• Will provide alcohol and other substance abuse prevention workshops to groups of students in New York City independent schools (4th-12th grades); workshop topics may also include transition to college, stress reduction, relational aggression/bullying, sexuality/relationships, body image, internet safety, and peer leadership trainings
• Will participate in the creation of new curriculum
• Will provide presentations to faculty and parents respectively in New York City independent schools
• Will participate in weekly staff and supervision meetings
• Will market Freedom Institute services to new school communities
