Description:
The coordinator is responsible to oversee the day to day operations of the program including recruiting and screening students, meeting with parents, and screening volunteers. The coordinator will plan weekly activities for the mentor matches, work with volunteer teams to provide meals for the mentoring evenings, maintain ongoing communication with mentors, parents and students and address any concerns if they arise. The coordinator will also maintain program files and reports and wok closely with the WYFS Executive Director, who will be responsible for recruiting mentors for the program as well as teams of volunteers to prepare the weekly meals. The Executive Director will coordinate mentor training and outcome measurement as well as the grant reporting for the program.
Additional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Youth Work or Psychology. Experience working with youth and families. Sensitivity to the needs of a low-income and diverse population. Previous experience working with volunteers. Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Internet/ Email). Bilingual English/ Spanish strongly preferred.
