Description:
Well established social service agency on the Upper West Side of Manhattan seeks a part time ESL instructor for its evening adult Beacon Program.
The instructor should be flexible and adaptable, a creative self-starter responsive to the needs and experiences of immigrants who are eager to improve their ability to understand and make themselves understood in English. Students may range from self-designated beginners to individuals whose concern is to shapren already acquired basic skills. The instructor should aim is to create a learner-centered, cooperative environment in which she or he works together with the students to advance all facets of communication: listening, speaking (with strong emphasis on pronunciation ) reading writing.
The job is 3 evenings per week days are flexible.
Additional Qualifications:
At least two years' classroom experience and/or certification ESOL,ESL. TEFL
