Description:

Commercial Corridor Manager will work with business owners and community stakeholders to improve the commercial corridor at Kensington and Allegheny Avenues in North Philadelphia.
• Outreach to stakeholders and assist KABA (Kensington & Allegheny Business Association) merchants
• Manage the KABA day to-day-office administration
• Business attraction and retention
• District marketing and Special Events planning
• Monitor and report streetscape and quality of life conditions to appropriate city agency
• Oversee Corridor Streetscape programs
• Create and implement strategies for addressing quality of life and streetscape issues throughout the corridor
• Oversee contracted sanitation and maintenance services
• Encourage businesses to invest in improving the appearances of their properties and assist those businesses and developers of commercial properties to access resources available through the City and the Business Association. These resources shall be financed through its CDBG-funded Small Business Commercial Improvement Program (SBCIP)

Additional Qualifications:

The KABA Corridor Manager must:
• Be capable of acting effectively as spokesperson and advocate for interests of the KABA members, based on guidance provided by the organization – Be and intelligent, professional, motivated person, who is capable of providing leadership, and possesses excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Be able to demonstrate initiative, complete tasks, and be flexible and open to work on a myriad of projects and activities
• Experienced in an administrative role and have demonstrated financial management skills
• Have contract or program management experience
• Be committed to the revitalization of K & A Corridor and be able to convey that commitment and enthusiasm to KABA members, merchants, residents and property owners
• Have a working knowledge of Philadelphia City government
• Knowledgeable in small business practices and related legislation, programs activities
• Other skills and qualifications as shall be determined by ICDC (Impact Community Development Corporation).



• Minimum – Bachelors Degree, at least 3 years experience in business assistance, economic development, retail management, operations or assistance or elated function Experienced fundraiser
• Familiarity with economic development issues in Philadelphia
• Proficiency in database creation and management skills in real estate, property information research, working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
