Description:
The North Brooklyn Coalition Against Family Violence (the Coalition) is a small, locally -based grassroots organization which provides services to domestic violence victims in the North Brooklyn neighborhoods of Williamsburg, Bushwick and Greenpoint. The goal of the Coalition's program is to bring a community-based approach to decrease the incidence of domestic violence in the community and to spread it's effects on victims and their families.
We are currently seeking a Grant Writer Consultant who will write grant proposals to foundations and corporations, persuasively communicating the company's mission and programs to potential funders. This individual also will steward current relationships and cultivate new partnerships with foundations and corporations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write grants proposals to foundations and corporations, persuasively communicating the company's mission and programs to potential funders.
• Communicate by phone and letter with potential funders, including but not limited to: responding to requests for information, submitting official letters of inquiry, and thanking funders for grants.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Outstanding writing and editing skills; substantial previous grant writing experience (including winning proposals to foundations and corporations), and the ability to persuasively convey program results through grant reports and donor communications
• Ability to articulate outcomes and interpret and present program and financial information
• Familiarity with social service and women’s issues, and a strong desire to help improve the lives of women and children affected by domestic violence.
