Description:
URC, a public health consulting firm just outside of Washington, DC, seeks a Social Marketing Coordinator for its Rockville, Maryland office.
In this role, you serve as an advisor in the application of social marketing principles for Federal Underage Drinking Prevention Initiatives. You will assist with assessing target populations, analyzing data, and conducting focus-group testing.
The Social Marketing Coordinator provides 1) technical assistance and 2) training to communities across the United States. It assists with the coordination efforts of a number of national underage alcohol use prevention initiatives. It also provides logistics support for email newsletters and other mailings to targeted audiences and provides support for content development and review of Federal Web sites.
The position contributes to the planning and implementation of new products/projects and brings demonstrated experience to developing and implementing social marketing campaigns. A formal background or relevant work experience in designing, developing and implementing social marketing campaigns is therefore a MUST.
Additional Qualifications:
• Ability to work for an indefinite period of time in the United States.
• Masters degree in public health with emphasis on social marketing courses and relevant internship or work experience.
• At least one to three years of relevant social marketing experience beyond masters degree.
• Strong knowledge of concepts of social marketing to include experience doing community assessments.
• Superior time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. Also, tracking of receipts and invoices, documentation of events/ conversations, tracking budgets, and ability to juggle priorities to produce high-quality results and ensure work gets done.
• Strong proficiency in PC applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort level posting text on websites and researching information on Internet.
• Demonstrated track record of excellent writing, public speaking, and training skills.
• Ability to act independently and make high-quality decisions. Ability to maintain confidential information as needed.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
• Effective team player and ability to forge relationships and work well with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with the federal or state government contracting environments is desired.
