Description:
We are pleased to announce the publication of the book Quantitative Approaches to Multidimensional Poverty Measurement, edited by Nanak Kakwani and Jacques Silber. This book draws together 14 articles that were presented at the IPC-sponsored International Conference on “The Many Dimensions of Poverty”, held in Brasilia in 2005. This book explores the latest developments in the field of multidimensional poverty measurement. It includes clear presentations of more than a dozen different quantitative techniques. The book provides empirical illustrations based on data sources from developed or developing countries.
• A sample chapter, “The Information Basis of Multivariate Poverty Assessments”, by Esfandiar Maasoumi and Maria Ana Lugo is available at: http://www.undp-povertycentre.org/book.htm
• Information about the full book is available at the Palgrave Macmillan website: http://www.palgrave.com/products/title.aspx?PID=276180
