EMACE is a Sri Lankan based NGO committed to protecting the basic human rights of Sri Lanka’s most vulnerable people. We help women, children, and displaced people to attain adequate means of income generation, health care, education, security and environmental sustainability, whilst actively influencing industries and government policies towards greener practice. Central to this is the belief that a healthy environment creates healthy people. Special emphasis is given to a holistic approach, ensuring that affected people are made part of the solution, empowering people to manage their own lives in a sustainable fashion, and thereby breaking the cycle of poverty in which they are trapped.

We have the local knowledge and sensitivity to ensure that our work benefits those that are targeted. We are currently running projects in women's legal rights, promoting solar cookers, income generation and vocational training for displaced people, in training small enterprises in environmental standards and in several other related areas.
