Common Goal of ODAM:
“ Establishing equality among human society’’ irrespective of Caste, Creed, Gender, Region, Religion or Language.
Focus:
ODAM works for Poverty alleviation, Women, Children, Health, Environment, Education, Community Based Rehabilitation, Agriculture and Human Rights.
Women Self Help Groups:
770 women Self Help Groups have been formed with 12000 members in 278 rural villages. Rupees 21, 25, 00, 000 have been given to the SHG's as bank linkage loans for income generation and poverty reduction. This has relieved many families from cruel money lenders. Still it is our aim to get money at 0 to 6 % interest from funding agencies to relieve other families.
Child Welfare Schools:
On the 9th of August 05 we started one Kashturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya (KGBV) Residential School for 50 girls aged 10 to 14 previously employed as child labourers. This school was established with the assistance of the Government. The school now has 100 students in total.
We have founded one hostel for mainstreamed 9th and 10th standard girls. ODAM has an aim to support the girls up to their job opportunity.
BIO-FUEL TO EM‘POWER’ THE FARMERS:
Demonstration Project on use of Bio-diesel assisted by India-Canada Environment Facility (ICEF)
The project addresses strategies for reclamation of fallow lands through popularizing and planting jatropha for biodiesel production from jatropha seeds and promoting its use in local diesel motors.
A nursery has been established in 2.5 hectares and 3,12,000 seedlings of jatropha were raised within.
