Mission:
The Global AIDS Alliance (GAA) seeks to mobilize the political will and financial resources needed to slow, and ultimately, stop the global AIDS crisis and reduce its impacts on poor countries hardest hit by the epidemic. We seek to address the epidemic’s fundamental links to social justice issues such as poverty and gender inequity and are committed to achieving the Millennium Development Goals. GAA’s current priorities are to accelerate progress toward (1) a comprehensive, evidence-based HIV prevention strategy; (2) universal treatment access; (3) comprehensive care and support for orphans and vulnerable children; (4) universal basic education and school fee abolition; and (5) an end to violence against women and children. We work to advance these goals through policy analysis and advocacy, media outreach and public education, coalition building, and grassroots mobilization.
