The mission of the nonprofit Aberdeen Area Career Planning Center is to provide education and training to low income and underemployed individuals in the northeast region of South Dakota. We are a very multi-faceted organization with a long list of provided services.

Services included are: Adult Education and Literacy, assistance for offenders reentering the community, job placement for individuals with disabilities, educational summer camps for youth, Even Start family literacy, Welding classes, NETT Carpentry and Electrical Programs, Commercial Driver License instruction, Office Technology, Blue Print Reading, Math for Machinists, English as a Second Language instruction, one-on-one tutoring, résumé assistance, career counseling, job search assistance, GED testing, Drive Right (assistance on the written portion of the state driver’s exam for individuals in occupational therapy), Corrective Thinking (prevention and intervention to lead individuals from negative behavior toward positive change), Youth Leadership Program, GED services for the Redfield Trustee Unit and Mike Durfee State Prison, after-school programming for youth at the Juvenile Detention Center, basic computer training, parenting classes, on-the-job training, and digital storytelling.

The AACPC creates strong links to post-secondary education and job training with the goal of promoting financial self-sufficiency.

We have satelite sites in Eagle Butte and Mobridge, South Dakota.
