Microfinance Opportunities is a microenterprise resource center that promotes client-led microfinance. It seeks to facilitate an improvement in poor people’s lives by increasing their access to well-designed and delivered financial services. Access to these services can improve the capacity of households, women and microentrepreneurs to increase their incomes, build assets and reduce vulnerability by better managing risks.
Microfinance Opportunities occupies a specialized market niche within the microfinance industry providing action-research, training and technical assistance in three areas focused on the clients of microfinance services:
• Financial Education: Design and training
• Microinsurance: Assessing demand
• Client Assessment: Market research and impact assessment
