Mission:
Utah Clean Cities, as part of the Department of Energy national Clean Cities family, seeks to improve air quality and increase energy security by reducing petroleum use. The goal is to lower America's petroleum needs by one million barrels of oil per day by the year 2020. Such a reduction will impact air quality by reducing harmful vehicle emissions.
To achieve this goal, the Utah Clean Cities Coalition advocates for the increased use of alternative fuel vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, fuel economy and efficiency, "blends" of ethanol and biodiesel, and engine idle reduction. Locally, we are made up of a group of stakeholders and partners interested in promoting these objectives on a local level.
