Mission:

The Bard Graduate Center was founded in 1993 by Susan Weber. The school offers an M.A. and Ph.D. in the history of the decorative arts, design and culture. Specialties/ concentrations include: Arts of Antiquity, Asia and Islam; Renaissance and Early Modern Europe; New York and American Material Culture; Modern Design History; and History and Theory of Museums. The Center also includes an exhibition gallery,and a range of exhibition-related education programs.
