The mission of The Center for New Words (CNW), a non-profit organization, is to use the power and creativity of women’s words and ideas to strengthen progressive and marginalized women’s voices. Our programs support diverse women‘s
engagement with the entire word cycle, from literacy to blogging to literary writing to opinion-making in the media. Built on the wisdom, commitments, and competencies of 28 years of running New Words Bookstore, one of the nation’s foremost feminist bookstores, CNW has claimed a place in the cultural life of Boston and the world at
large. Since 2002, CNW has operated as a stand-alone nonprofit.
