Mission:
The Forum for Fact-finding Documentation and Advocacy is a non-profit, national human rights organization concerned with documenting human rights violations, assisting the victims and their families in their material and legal needs, conducting human rights education work, doing public interest litigations, and building democracy and peace. FFDA conducts its activities with the aim of protecting and promoting the rights of oppressed groups, including indigenous peoples (tribals, adivasis), dalits (persons of low caste), women, children and other vulnerable communities.
In cooperation with the broad human rights movement, FFDA shall advocate and support social structures and actions that promote human rights nationally and globally. As a human rights and democracy monitoring and advocacy resource center, FFDA shall work to protect and promote human rights by working with the victims of human rights violations and their organizations, and create awareness of victims rights and of basic human rights concepts and principles. FFDA shall, too, educate the victims and their communities, facilitate and build the capacity of the organizations of victims to take their own action collectively. FFDA's human rights advocacy must be the side with victims and their organizations.
FFDA shall: help in seeking justice and provide systematic services for victims of human rights violations and oppressed groups, including indigenous peoples (tribals, adivasis), dalits (persons of low caste), women, children and other vulnerable communities; inform the peoples in the country and the international community of the human rights situation in INDIA, particularly the plight of indigenous peoples (tribals, adivasis), dalits (persons of low caste), women, children and other human rights violations; educate people of their rights and on basic human rights concepts and principles; help in strengthening the INDIA and the international human rights movements; foster stronger cooperation among non-governmental organizations, peoples' organizations, and other support groups locally and internationally, especially among countries in the South.
