The Center on Ecotourism and Sustainable Development (CESD) is the only national nonprofit organization working exclusively on ecotourism certification and research as a means by which to achieve sustainable development. CESD believes that ecotourism has the potential to: provide financial benefits and empowerment for local people; build conservation and cultural awareness; and support international human rights.
