Nishan is a public policy advocacy non profit organization committed to upholding rights & justice in the society. We are dedicated to those less fortunate, whom we failed as the world's largest democracy by depriving them of their lives and properties in madness of mob violence and fake encounters due to incompetence and cowardice of Omnipotent corrupt police officers and their equally corrupt political masters, who derive their powers from the world's lengthiest constitution that portrays independent judiciary. Judiciary at the helm of this rots and conforms “Justice delayed is justice denied" and denies the justice obliquely with eternal delays and dubious commissions and erodes the trust of common man. “nothing rankles more in the human heart than a brooding sense of injustice, illness we can put up with but injustice makes us want to pull things down"

It is also dedicated to those hapless citizens of India, every day that become victims of abuse of power while begging for justice, face humiliations, harassments due to moral bankruptcy of the civic society that has given social acceptance to corruption and completely fail as democracy.

What ails the world’s largest democracy is not the poverty alone but the injustice. In independent India whether it is the administration or the justice dispensing system, everything evokes cynical distrust.
All we know we are all in for massive change - This is high time, we wake up from our deep slumber and blind faith and instead of expressing our frustration and rage in spurts of protests against the cases of injustice, let us all believe that right action, no matter how small, can lessen the sufferings that exist in the society. Furthermore let’s pledge to assist the less fortunate, whose sufferings, come to our awareness and demonstrate courage without regard for success or public appreciation.
Nishan is a pious journey, dedicated to those valiant men and women who do their bit to keep alive the spirit of resistance to injustice and Endeavour on empowering poorest of poor of India with awareness of his rights and dignity lest he falls alone and suffer in the ignominy.

What We Do

In this campaign, we associate and express our solidarity with those who face injustice as victims of corruption or due to abuse of power in the society. In order to encourage them in their fight against the corruption and injustice, we not only extend all possible legal help but also collect essential evidences and help in making it available to the statutory authorities for securing punitive actions against the culprits.
SAFE ENCOUNTERS
In this campaign, we are on Endeavour to organize seminars and workshops to generate awareness against the menace of fake encounters and extra judicial killings and custodial killings by the police organizations and the Armed Forces in the country. We also pick up individual cases of fake encounters and extra judicial killings and custodial killings and pursue these cases to help the dependents of the victims to seek justice.
UNSUNG HEROES
In the campaign on unsung heroes, to ward off alienation and gloom, we organize camps for the children of those men and women who sacrificed their lives for the cause of society and secured our way of life and went before us, lest we forget those who served valiantly and selflessly.
In these camps, we Endeavor to generate awareness on human rights and dignity, impart career guidance, motivate and select leaders to propagate the cause of human rights in the society to ensure that the young children become our foot soldiers and may refuse to passively observe the misdeeds of the human rights violators/perpetrators of corruption and thus serve for dignified human life and contribute peace in the society.
