The St. Bernard Project is a grassroots, nonprofit organization that provides direct support to families in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana who were displaced and devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Our mission is to break down barriers that hinder families from returning to their homes and community. The St. Bernard Project focuses on removing barriers related to employment, housing, transportation, and education with the goal of facilitating the rebuilding of the community. Further, The St. Bernard Project focuses on the core and future of the parish by providing support for educational and recreational activities for the parish’s public school children. The St. Bernard Project includes the following programs: Adopt a Family Network, Tool Co-op, and School Support Initiative.
