Mission:

Native and cultural Hawaiian plant life has diminished at a staggering rate in the last two centuries. There are 1,233 endemic and indigenous plant species with presently more than 280 listed by the federal government as threatened or endangered and 300 more in line to be listed. In addition, as an agrarian society, Hawaiian culture was closely tied to plants. The loss of native plants has had a striking impact on traditional Hawaiian culture. Reversal of these trends is essential to prevent the further loss of native and cultural plants while providing critical links to Hawaii's traditional past.

Archipelago's Regeneration & Restoration Group's goal is to use the tool of education to teach the public about native and cultural plants.
